Happy New Year to ALL !!! I did two fb covers. It’s sooo cold here in Taiwan, please take good care of yourself. Wishing you good luck, good health and much happiness throughout the year – Zoe greeting from Taiwan 🙂

BTW, just a thought, please write, which routine and in which competition you think is the best performance ever executed by Zhenya and deserved the highest score? feel free to write your comment.

For me I think it’s Zhenya’s Chopin ribbon 2.1 in qualification in London 2012! Maybe it’s not perfect in difficulties, but watching live is really a different story than watching routines on computer or TV. I was sooo moved and it’s an unforgettable experience. That routine is in my heart and will live forever 🙂

I think both are great images of Zhenya, but I have more love for 13 🙂 maybe it’s because the age 13 photo is more precious, it’s rarely to see it (note by Zoe: Tom never posted this Calais 2003 photo on his website, I have it because I bought all Zhenya’s photos taken by him), but those fashion photos or those adult competitions and training photos you can see them everywhere. Her Rhythmicity
At 22, Evgenia Kanaeva has become the first 2-time Olympic champion in Rhythmic Gymnastics, and the overall number of her gold medals have long passed 50. She is successful good-looking and incredibly hardworking. After  London Olympics, Zhenya is taking time off and so far is not making any plans for the future.

We’ve met with Evgenia Kanaeva at Baltschug Kempinski Moscow hotel. For the photoshoot, she was given a light make-up and a 60s-style hairdo. Pleased with the outcome, Zhenya frankly answered all our questions.

– Your mom (Master of Sports in Rhythmic Gymnastics) must have been the one to introduce you to the sport?
– No, my grandmother signed me up for the gymnastics – to make me slim down a bit and to straighten my legs. Mom did not want me to do the gymnastics in the beginning – she herself had struggled in training (she lacked physical competencies), but she achieved the Master of Sports thanks to her hard work.
