Russian team composition in senior individual: Zhenya Kanaeva four routines, Daria K three routines, Daria D one routine, Merkulova reserved!

Very good desicion by Viner!!! actually it’s easy to decide this composition, of couse Viner have to give Zhenya the chance to defend all her apparatus titles and plus no rope this year, and Zhenya never compete clubs @EC, therefore with her fabulous clubs routine this year, let her do clubs is inevitable!!! Anyway, even not a surprise Viner will give Zhenya four! still I am very happy can watch Zhenya perform 4 routines @EC 🙂 <333

Wish Zhenya all the BESTTTTTTT!!! GOOD LUCK to HER!!!!!! DAVAI DAVAI DAVAI!!!!!
Zhenya! Keep Calm and Finish the routines!!! You can DO IT!!!!!

    @Laura, I checked the Ball final video-Spanish TV coverage myself, no, the broadcast didn’t show the timer at the end of Zhenya’s ball routine, and from my point of view, Zhenya didn’t late! So I really don’t understand why Zhenya was penalized 0.1

    The commentator is saying that is quite strange to see Zhenya making mistakes in two consecutive routines. And at the end of the routine she says that Zhenya must be disappointed – ( just because she is almost crying) -, but she is sure Zhenya knows these are the things of life. It wasn’t a good day for her, but we can not deny her the incredible level she is always showing as well as her elegance and expression.

    I agree with the commentator, Paloma del Río. Here in Spain we love her. We love her opinions and sincerity ))

    Well, maybe it wasn’t the best tournament for Zhenya. But however, she won 3 golds and 1 silver! That indicates the level of sportswoman we are talking about. Evgenia Kanaeva is amazing. Some mistakes and not the best day? Ok, but 3 golds and 1 silver. She is great!!

    And about her leotards… They were all really, really beautiful. I love all of them! ALL. Many people don’t like the ball one, but I find it pretty and different. I like it very much. And the ribbon one is so beautiful. Finally, black is a colour that I love and Zhenya is really elegant and beautiful wearing it.
    So, for me it’s difficult to improve the beauty of the leotards she wore this weekend.

    Finally, to say that I will be in Montpellier!!!!! I got the tickets, hotel and plane. It will be my first tournament and the first time I support Evgenia Kanaeva in person.
    I feel really happy and can’t wait for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    @Laura, I am with you, Chopin ribbon is Zhenya’s BEST routine so far!!! and my favorite of course!!! I hope they keep this routine for 2012 unless they can create a better one to surpass it and it will be very very difficult!!!! One more thing, I have a question, do you have any idea why Zhenya got 0.1 penalty @ball? I watched the broadcast, Zhenya didn’t late to the music, didn’t end without apparatus, and of course her ball wasn’t out of carpet…then why deducted 0.1??? I know even plus the 0.1 her score is 28.450 tie with Charkashyna, but Zhenya’s E is lower than Charkashyna so she will be 2nd anyway…but I just want to know the reason…

    I don’t know if it’s the best routine for last 10 years, but for sure is the best Zhenya’s ribbon routine ever!! I even dare to say it’s my favourite Kanaeva’s routine since I know her, even though it’s very difficult choose just one performance.

    That’s rigth. Zhenya wasn’t so brilliant with ribbon but she was the best for sure.
    The commentarist said that with this routine she proved she was one of the most elgant gymnasts. Of course, she’s rigth.

I watched Zhenya’s ribbon Ithink she was almost to cry is because she knew she did well (a little mistake not serious) not because she was sad for her previous apparatus’ mistakes…And ya 3 golds+1 silver is a good result! One more thing Laura, did Spanish TV broadcast gala show?

    @ZKG-WanWan Yes, Lyubov dropped too. And yes belarussian gymnast were overscored in my opinion…
    Anyway Zhenya got the highest score with 29.450 in hoop!! But I’m a little bit sad because she was sad too…at the end of ribbon routine she was trying not to cry!! And in the award ceremony she wasn’t the Kanaeva we’re use to seeing! Poor Zhenya!! Anyway she finally won 3 golds and 1 silver which is not bad for anything!!
    I’m, of course, so proud of her!
    (((Mum-Svetlana was with audience supporting Russian team!)))

    @Laura: really!!!??? Charkashyna dropped clubs too? But the competition was held in BLR so…we all know. I didn’t watch Charkashyna’s clubs and ball. and yes what a shame, except the mistake Zhenya made in Ball and Clubs the rest of the 2 routines she did very well!!!

    I think is clairly UNFAIR Zheny’as ball score. She drop the ball once, but the score is so low.
    And what about clubs… She ended 6th. The clubs went out of the carpet, maybe the score in Ok. Lyubov won again Neta Rivkin was 2nd and Maksymenko 3rd… I don’t know what is happening today… Historic…podium without russians…
    I’m happy for Charkashyna but I don’t really think she deserved gold in ball. In clubs she drop too and she won…Makshymenko deserved gold from my point of view.

    @Laura, I just watched the last pivot of Zhenya’s clubs routine (I forgot the BNT on-line stream schedule orz…), after that she showed unsatisfied face then I knew she must make mistake…and from slow motion reply, I saw her dropped one clubs….anyway, many A group gymnasts made mistakes today. Hopefully she can perform a flawless club routine tomorrow! Davai Davai Davai Zhenya!!!

    Today I’ve watched it live and just when Zhenya was going to perform with clubs there was no signal!!! What a bad luck! I’ve watched all the competition waiting for Zhenya’s clubs and just the image said goodbye! =(
    Anyway I saw ribbon and it was magnificent! What a pity the little mistake at the end!!
    About ball and hoop NO WORDS.. Loooove new leo!! I also think it suits her!!! The routine is extremely difficult! Which I don’t like so much is ball leo, but more important is the amazing performance! ELEGANCE ❤

    I never thought black leotard don’t suit her, her 2007 black ribbon leo in Corbeil is one of the most beautiful leotards she wears imo, and I don’t think black don’t suit RG. We can see many black leotards. If it’s not a good color for RG, the designer won’t desin so many black leotards. Zhenya seldom wears balck leotard, only three except this new one. 1. 2007 corbeil ribbon 2. 2008 rope 3. 2009 rope in early year… all these three I see very beautiful and suit her. Otherwise not so many other gymnasts wear them too, especially 2008 one. many other RUS gymnasts ever wore it. I say it again all depends on design not the color, you have to see the the content of the routine to design the leotard and the color. For example can you use a very colorful leo to dance with “Carmina Burana”??? I don’t think so. Plus, many people said her skin color ball leotard “a big no”, but what now…many persons changed their mind, that skin color leotard not a big no for me but I also not like it very much at first but now I love it VERY MUCH!!! That’s what call professional those designer, they can see more than us

    No, it’s strange, privately Evgeniya sees in black mostly good, but the black leotards fit rarely to her (my opinion). I don’t why, maybe because RG is a pretty sport and black is so dark, so “emotionless”, this sport need colors! Although I must admit the two newest leotards of Evgeniya are ok. Probably because they are a little bit with red and the other with blue. But I definitely prefer colors (like green *g*).

    If you don’t like Zhenya wearing black then most of time you won’t like her off carpet photos, because she wears very often black in private life and of course in training…I don’t have special biased with colors…I should say I don’t specially dislike any color, good or bad depends on design not the color. When I was young I dislike red, pink this kind means feminine colors in traditional view but right now I also have many red and pink clothes. Right now for me color is neutral, none a color must be for man or for women, all depends on design
