FIG: Rio goes Rhythmic
RIO DE JANEIRO, 10:15 a.m.: Ninety six gymnasts — 14 Groups of five gymnasts and 26 individuals — will dance on the Rhythmic floor installed in the Rio Olympic Arena during today’s podium training, the final dress rehearsal for the qualification rounds taking place Friday for individuals and Saturday for Groups.
For the past 16 years, Russian gymnasts have reigned at the Olympics in this discipline, winning every gold medal in both individual and Group competition. Rhythmic was born in the east, and eastern European countries have continued to produce the best in the world. That title presently belongs to Yana Kudryavtseva of Russia, who comes into this event unbeaten in World All-around competition since she became a senior in 2013.

– Gymnasts Staniouta and Halkina will come out on the carpet in the new season!
Gymnast Staniouta thought about retirement, but after the Olympic Games in Rio Melitina officially announced that remain in the sport. Melitina does not know whether she will be up to the Olympic Games in Tokyo, but she certainly is not going to leave until the end of the new season.
Gymnast Halkina not even thought about retirement after the Olympic Games, even had there and thought doterpet to Tokyo. Recall that Katsiaryna at the Olympic Games in Rio was ranked 6, no matter what she was satisfied with it, but of course there were mistakes that will need to work.
August 21 ended the Olympic Games, the girls will be resting now, and again in the new season will be released on the carpet!
