Lulu, it is easy to lose 8kgs in 5mnths if you are determined enough. Zhenya said she ate twice if she practises 2 sessions, only breakfast if she she trains once a day and none at all on her off day. A gymnast training hard for olympics would need at least 5000kcal per day (swimmers need up to 15000). Losing 3500kcal makes it 1lb (2.2lbs for 1 kg). Losing 60,000kcal is a cinch for her. It is even possible to lose 8kg in a week but it is unhealthy to do so.

As for Kabaeva and Tchachina, the substance is called frusemide. It doesn’t magically make you lose weight, it makes you urinate alot so your body lose free water. So if they drink water, they just gain back the weight. Medications for Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) may or may not contain it depending on the brand because progesterone in women prior to menstruation causes water retention and bloating. Apparently the same brand that they use in Russia do not contain frusemide while the one they bought oversees did. The team doctor missed it. Their case was ruled as accidental and not intentional, thus the suspension was only 2 years. If found taking intentionally it would have been 4 yrs. You can’t lose 8kgs due to frusemide unless you are already edematous.

Please know your facts before making such wild accusations. And know your doping laws before accusing athletes of cheating intentionally. Many of our daily medications contain alot of WADA’s banned substances that it is sometimes easy to miss one substance in an ingredient list.

Lulu, do you have any proof to say so? I lost 8 kgs in three months this year. my method is doing exercise everyday. I am not even a sportsman. Not to mention gymnasts, they are professional athletes doing a lot of exercises everyday. And Zhenya is a very determined gymnast. She could do it on her own will.

I dont know whats wrong here posting comments because they always dissapear..
    Nevermind.
Im quite sure zhenya was doped in London.
In many Interviews before and after the games she said that she tried to lose weight and lost about 8 kg. Kabaevas drug improved losing weight so an athlete like Kanaeva under such pressure and Putin-friendly trainer Viner wont lose the weight with own efforts..

IOC says 70% of original Russian team will compete in Rio Olympics
The International Olympic Committee has confirmed 271 Russian athletes will compete in the Rio Olympics, a figure that will provoke outrage from those who argued for a blanket ban in the wake of state-sponsored doping revelations.
